Artist's Comments

Here is my "first draft" of my Flash website. After about two weeks and an extimated excess of 200 hours I have somewhat figured out how to build a website in Flash, but mostly I've just learned how HUGE flash really is.

Right now this site is very much in a Beta stage, so critique and suggestions are most welcome. I'm still working on a more user friendly interface, and of course all the graphic elements are going to be beautified when I get time- at the moment they are just some old graphics I had leftover from other projects.
There is still a lot of stuff missing, but I hope you will still have the patience to check it out and let me know what you think! Thanks!
:)

PS ok I can already see that it runs REALLY slow in DA, so you can also check it out at my site: [link]

I don't know, but what I'm seeing here seems as fast as opening your link in a separate window. LOVE the concept! Great with the clouds lightly brushing over the moon making the details come in and out of focus. Sweet!

Either work hard, or you might as well quit. MCH

Thanks! I'm actually pretty proud of the clouds, it was a little eureka moment I had for making a dynamic background that doesn't require a large movie clip. As for the speed of the site I am glad to hear that it worked for you- maybe it was just my computer then. All the gallery flyouts were super jumpy when I opened it through Deviantart.
Thanks for checkin it out! :)

attachment creates bondage, while love bestows freedom

nice concept, but as a designer / artist you need to have a better typographical foundation. Comic sans is the worst choice ever. It says childish and immature whereas your site is more "mystical" etc. If you want to start going into interactive design, you should make sure that you've studied every aspect it includes.

But very original style - i like!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm really blind when it comes meshing pictures and text, so I'm glad you pointed it out. I can see by your gallery you know what you are talking about when it comes the typographical so I hope I can maybe bounce some ideas off of you sometime! In the meantime I'll try to find some fonts that say mystical, but the whole design aspect of this site is at about the same unfinished stage as the fonts, so it's on an already long to do list! ;)

Thanks! Yeah I got pretty effected by those torture pics while I was doing them. It was a good cause, but I'm glad to be done with that project.
Anyway, thanks for checking out the site- I hope to make some updates soon. :)

wow, rad feedback yourself! usually people slate me when I give an honest opinion. Thanks! I'd be more than happy if you want to bounce ideas off me, I'm always keen to see work progressing as well as the fact that this is what dA was founded on.

Keep up the awesome imagination - it'll get you everywhere.
